STRESSFUL TIMES AHEAD
She is doing so much better...getting stronger everyday. The nursing home she is at is giving her physical therapy everyday. She said it feels good to move like that. She is being released either on Thursday or Friday. She will find out more tomorrow. But she is not strong enough to go home alone. For me to go stay with her, with my responsibility to homeschool is out of the question. So she is coming to live with us for a while.
I am not sure how long. The physical therapist will come to our house a few times a week to keep up her strength. We have to take some things out of the den so we can use the bed in there for her. It will be different and stressful to have another responsiblity. But my God is bigger than anything I can think up and boy can I think up some doozies.....LOL
So with all that I am going to take a blogging break for a while. Not sure how long....just until I can get all what I need to do and have some time over. So I will see you all in a short while. I would covet your prayers during this time. Thanks my Xanga friends........

Hi Susan ~ I can understand what you mean about taking a break. You have great responsibilites and you need the time to adjust. I will pray for you and your family. I pray that your mother will regain the strength she needs to function on her own and for Peace that passes understanding. I will be here when you return. Blessings ~Carolyn
Also, I wanted to share with you. When I attended my cousin's services 2 weeks ago, I learned that one of her sons is a firefighter for the city of San Diego. He was one fighting those fires last year.
I will keep you in prayer. It will be a challenging transition, but I hope it will be a really meaningful time for your family---especially for your daughter.
Susan, hugs and prayers! I will be praying for you for strength and healing for you both.
I'm praying for you and your family at this time! Stay strong!
Susan, I'll be praying for you and your mom. Please check in when you get a chance.(((
)))
You are amazing. I know with what you deal with it will be a struggle to take on more. However, God is in the midst of it all. Love you!
I have a little book by a (non-Calvinist) man named Fenelon, who was chaplain to a great king of France and his court. It's amazing how he gets it so right so often. One of his sayings that has really challenged me is this:
"You see, the point is not how you are to be sustained and kept alive, but how you are to give up and die."
May God Himself sustain you.
I definitely will pray for you all!!!!! We will miss you!
((( hugs ))) and prayers for you! I know through my journey w/ my mom, I've been utterly exhausted many times and yet God has provided all that I needed -- whether it was that the kids or DH did a little bit more around the house or whether my own family gave me some quiet time, whether no one called so I could have a nap -- whatever, it has worked out so well. I still get uptight when I think about how many things I have to do and taking time aside for mom, but I'm learning to let my anxieties go and trust God for everything. It's a difficult lesson for someone who likes control. D
PS I forgot to say that I'm very glad that your mom is doing so well! And this time will be good for your daughter and mom to interact -- that in itself is a great life experience, which is a lot what homeschooling is about. I've taken my kids along w/ me a few times when I visit mom and, even though their bookwork doesn't get done, they learn so much about life by helping me look after my mom.
I will be praying for you & your Mom. I know it will be a big adjustment for all of you but I know you will be doing this as unto the Lord & He will be your strength & your guide. Love you dear friend!
You are quite the special Daughter to take on such a responsibility !1 But maybe it won't be stressful at all , just a Joy having your Mom with you - so you can see her every day and so can the kids !!
I wish you Much Luck !!
God Bless !
Diane
I will be praying for you. You can do it. One step at a time.
I pray that you have some sweet time to make some memories with your Mom.

Thank you all so much for the prayers and good wishes. We have a bed and drapes for the den. So that much is done. Seems like we will pick her up on Friday. She is coming home with a walker and keep praying for her to be able to have a PT come to our house to continue her exercises.
Susan, please know that I will be praying for you as you take some time off, and for your mother to gain her strength back, and for this time of adjustment for your family ... what a blessing you are to your mother! I'll pray for the PT to be able to come to your home as well.
With things going on here with my in-laws, I wasn't able to get back to you in response to your comment on Tuesday! Thank you so much for praying for my father in law! He made wonderful progress and he is going back to the retirement center to be with Mom later today! They are amazed that he is doing so well! Prayer works ... God is good! Know that I'll be praying for your mom, for you all ... and right back at you, hang on to God!
Bless you!

You do not have to explain to me. I totally understand, why. I will pray for you as you care for your MOM. God does give you the strength to do it. Our problems should lead us to lean on HIM and HIS strength. Hte greatest of all is a servant and caregiving is servanthood to HIM. Look forward to hearing how it goes.
