“The Christian life is built upon the
foundation of (1) facing who you really are and (2) trusting who Christ
truly is. Everything you do will be shaped by the degree to which you
act on the blessings that are yours in Christ.
If you only look at yourself and carry around a load of guilt, you
will hide, excuse, blame, rationalize, and cover up your shame rather
than enjoy the freedom of confession and the joy of forgiveness. You
will not enjoy the lasting fruit that comes from following the wisdom
that is already yours in Christ! Instead, you will reduce the Christian
life to a simplistic list of rules and behaviors that never touch the
real problems, and you will be blind to the gaps in your relationship
to Christ.”

Hey! You must get Of First Importance too!
I posted this on my blog today as well. Isn't it great?!
Have a blessed day!
@flipperiferous - yes I do...I got the idea from your blog.....thanks....
Good advice.
Facing who I really am: a depraved sinner; Trusting who Christ is: my sinless, divine Savior. Thanks for the encouragement.
This is so true!
Facing who we are and trusting Christ is the most important action we can ever take for this determines our eternal destiny. May God bless you for sharing this truth today. ~Judy
Amen ... seeing who we are IN Christ, is the truth we need to grab and hold onto. He wants us to be free of all the guilt! Thanks for sharing this, Susan!
RYC: Yes, the 'waiting mode' ... not always easy ... we just need to trust in knowing that he has a purpose in both the waiting, and the answer that finally comes.
You have a great day out there, I hope you're staying cool ... here it's about 74* with a nice breeze, and my windows are open today! I know you're still warm out there ... Ian did call to share a bit about the ash from the fires that's blowing around where he is.
*And on another note: 'Lions, tigers, and chimps, oh my'! I just heard on FoxNews about a ferocious chimp that's on the loose near San Bernadino
How often does that happen?! Well, we recently had a tiger loose from our zoo here in Indy! They caught him, thank you very much!! Anyway, this chimp can be very dangerous! They said to keep an eye open, so if you're anywhere near there, watch out for a big mean monkey! You have a blessed week, as well, my sweet friend! <><
Can by way of Danish Doll's rec. What a timely and well thought out quote from "How People Change". Thanks for sharing.
Beautifully said Susan. That is so true!!!! Why can't I remember it for longer periods of time. I seem to be in a cycle--up, up and away, then crash!!! I love the Ray C. Stedman teaching that, Christ lives in my heart with His resurrection power, adding the devine plus to my dialy life.
Thanks for the visit. I am basic husband. Don't wake me up to talk. Men don't like to do that. Once in awhile she wakes me up with a kiss. That is different.
Have a great week.
Blessings
frank
