WE ARE BACK FROM VACATION
Not sure what I am doing here…..
This is the porch of the our cabin..
Side view of the cabin….I love how it is surrounded by pine treesoverlooking Lake Arrowhead
We found a turtle
Feeding some ducks…others are watching under the piershe is racing
this carousel is very old at the village
We have taken a pic of her with this bear every year since she was only 4
Here is a shot of Lake Gregory…we used to go there when I was a kid….lookspretty much the sameThe love of my life Paul
Amy and her new found friends with their seaweed raft…or is it called lakeweed since this is a lake????
This is where we stay…..check out the hand carved bear totem pole….
Here is another shot of the carved bears
Another shot of my honey……what a man
This is Amy….waiting patiently for the internet….it was iffy at best but free….
Feeding a squirrel…..one actually stood up on her lap….did not have the camera out fast enoughWe had such a nice restful time. To be in the mountains, I just feel closer to God. Technically I guess I am. I learned a whole lot about myself and my family this trip. I will have to share about that in another entry. But all in all, it was just wonderful. Funny thing happened to me this time. My fibromyalgia was worse. I just could hardly walk around, much less go up and down the stairs that just about every store or restaurant had. I guess when you are built on a mountain, you just have to have stairs.
When I came home, I looked up why this funny thing had happen. Now we go there just about every year and I don’t remember this happening before. I read that the lack of oxygen could cause the muscles to tighten and hurt……maybe my fibromyalgia is progressing??? Some don’t believe it is a progressive disease. Now I am beginning to wonder. I have a doctor appointment on Wednesday and ask him.On the homefront, we started homeschooling again today. I did not know we would start so soon. Talk about back to reality. Amy is in the 6th grade….boy, I sure hope I am smarter than a 6th grader…….LOL

I just got back on Xanga today – my computer crashed and my son’s friend, Kevin, just got it operating. He spent 5 hours on it. It was my hard drive, but he was still able to retrieve all my files. Thank goodness. Sounds like you had a nice vacation! I’m sorry about the pain you were having. I hope all goes well the first week back to school. Enjoy. ~Carolyn

Great pics, Susan – looks like a fun vacation.
I’m sorry to hear that your FM was so much worse though~
My mom struggles with that, too.
I’m sure you ARE smarter than a 6th grader!
Hope it’s a super school year for you! I homeschool my youngest still (7th grader), and am so thankful for the time I’ve had at home with each of our kids!
Nice pictures!!! Looks like you had a great time except for the Fibromyalgia. I know the feeling about hoping to be smarter than your children. I am teaching eighth grade this year!!!
What a beautiful place! I used to go to Lake Gregory when I was a kid too! Haven’t been there in many years tho! I think it has been about 3 years since I went to Lake Arrowhead, love that place! Great pics of you & your family!

Pretty page!! Welcome home, Susan … but I might have wanted to stay a little longer there! I love the photos! What a great place to vacation, but I am sorry to hear that the FM was giving you some trouble! I do hope you got some encouraging news yesterday at the doctor, and are feeling better! Getting away like that does help us to strengthen our family relationships! I hope your homeschooling is going well for you this week! I miss that so much!
I want to thank you again for your thoughts and prayers for Elizabeth! Things are going well, but it will be a little while before she is feeling back to normal … she has good days and not so good days, and also had a bad reaction to her treatment on Monday, doing better now though … although, I felt so bad today, not being able to get around here to visit as often, that I didn’t see a friend of mine on here had a very serious health issue with her family! You might have been there yourself, Fwren … her family was in an awful accident, and they need prayer. I didn’t know, until I saw that her blog was on the ‘featured’ list with 200 visits on Xanga’s Frontpage! If you have been there, well you know all of this, but I know, after reading what happened, that they could use all the prayers they can get! Thanks so much, Susan! You have a blessed day in Him!
Hugs ~ Deborah <><

When I submitted that post,
your page changed from the ‘country rose’ look to this …
I really like this one …
it’s ‘sunny’!
Maybe you’re still up out there in CA!!?
I know my son is!
