"If you want rest come to Christ in Gethsemane, to Christ on Calvary, to Christ risen, to Christ ascended. If you want rest, O weary souls, ye can find it nowhere until ye come and lay your burdens down at his dear pierced feet, and find life in looking alone to him."
- Charles Spurgeon
Have you ever wanted something so badly and when you finally realized it wasn't going to
happen, you got so depressed? Of course you have. I wonder how many more times I
will look to others to fulfil me......time and time again I am disappointed in people.
When will I only "look to Jesus" to be my one and only?
Ps 42:5 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation.

Maybe one day here on earth we won't look to others to fill what only Jesus can but don't you find that over the years you more quickly turn to Jesus? I don't hang on to the "wanting" others to do what only Jesus can like I used to. I'm still disappointed but the light bulb goes off quicker than it used to. Works in progress we are!
@DawneElla - Oh definately...but at times it still hurts....but we are His workmanship for sure...blessings
I love that Christian Code of Internet Ethics. Very cool!
"Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you." Psalm 116:7 (NIV)
I was looking through some comments on the LPM blog and I saw this verse...and it just hit me. I went ahead and copied it here because it seemed to fit.
It is easy to lay the choice of me being blessed in someone elses lap...I have often. I have given them the right in my mind to take away something good. But I have to remind myself that all good things come from God above and no one can take away from me or withhold from me that which God means me to have. So I will return my hope to the Lord and realize that He is and has been good to me....and then I can breathe again.
Just where I am right now.
@SunnySusan - yes it sure does. We feel pain, heart, body and soul. I love that all that will not go to waste, that somehow, someway our Lord and Saviour will use our hurt for our good and His glory. At times it's so hard to comprehend how but He promises He will! In the meantime know that prayers are being said on your behalf. Sending Hugs and thinking of you. with prayers~Dawne
@DawneElla - aahh...thanks my friend
I've been there many times myself. Thank you for the reminder to look to Jesus!
